Chelsea fans fume at Sarri as Jorginho is dropped… and Kante STILL doesn’t play as holding midfielder

SOME Chelsea fans have been left fuming after Kante was deployed in an advanced midfield role yet again – despite regular anchorman Jorginho being dropped.

Maurizio Sarri instead decided to name Mateo Kovacic as his team’s deep-lying playmaker.

That’s despite calls from some Blues supporters who feel Kante remains the best option to play in front of the defence.

However, Sarri has made it abundantly clear that his style of play requires the defensive midfielder to be highly technical.

And he recently revealed that Kovacic was being retrained in the position after Chelsea sold Cesc Fabregas to Monaco.

That didn’t stop a handful of supporters expressing their anger on social media, with one saying: “Kante is still played in the wrong position. This team has no sense of attack. This is disappointing to watch.”

Another wrote: “So the crap Jorginho don’t play and he still plays Kante out of position sack this guy please.”

One noted: “The stubbornness of Sarri will definitely cost him his job. So many managers wish to have Kante in their team as a DM. I don’t seem to understand.”

Another observed: “So Sarri has dropped Jorginho and Kante still isn’t playing in his best position. Sarri is acting like a third season Mourinho.”

One claimed: “This is shocking. Jorginho’s negative effect from being on the bench. If only Kante played his normal position.”

Another exclaimed: “Sarri still using Kante upfront. He has to go.”
