DIEGO COSTA will miss Atletico Madrid's second leg against Juventus through suspension.

Just seven minutes into the first leg in the Spanish capital, the ex-Chelsea star was given a yellow card for breaking out of the wall ahead of a Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick.

Costa's booking means he will not be available to play in the return leg in Turin next month.

And it looks likely the Spanish international will not even play the full first-leg at home tonight.

Costa has been out for the past two months with a foot injury - and even underwent surgery.

After coming off the bench on Saturday, Costa started tonight, but boss Diego Simeone confirmed he was "not ready to play the 90 minutes";.

Costa is likely to replaced in the starting line-up by ex-Chelsea ace Alvaro Morata for the second leg in Italy.

And the Spaniard recently revealed he always planned on moving to Los Rojiblancos, saying: If I tell you the truth, the first contact was three-and-a-half years ago.

“I gave [Simeone] my word that as soon as I was able to, I would come. It wasn't possible before, but it wasn't because of me.

“I gave him my word, and now I've come here it has been the time when I've talked with Simeone the least.”
