Sarri expects sack if Man City humiliate Chelsea again in the Carabao Cup final

Blues chief lost more backing with FA Cup defeat to Man Utd  and now faces vital clashes with Malmo and Guardiola's men

MAURIZIO SARRI expects the sack if Chelsea suffer another humiliation against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

The Blues boss has been on the brink since they were stuffed 6-0 by City in the Premier League at the Etihad ten days ago.

And the Italian lost more dressing-room and boardroom support — plus the fans — with Monday’s 2-0 home defeat in the FA Cup to Manchester United.

Chelsea top brass will act if they suffer a big defeat at Wembley. Sarri is also preparing for the last-32 Europa League clash at home to Malmo tomorrow.

They lead 2-1 from the first leg but a slow start in front of a small crowd could create another toxic atmosphere.

Sarri, 60, faced the pressure of Chelsea’s volatile fans turning on him during the United game.

They sang “f*** Sarri-ball” and “sacked in the morning” for long periods of a dispiriting second half.

He has admitted he cannot motivate his players and his methodical playing approach has frustrated a dressing-room full of stars.

Zinedine Zidane is wanted by some of the Chelsea board but they face a battle to convince the former Real Madrid boss, who won the Champions League in his last three seasons to take on such a massive project.

Blues players believe Sarri could be sacked next week with another huge game on the horizon against Tottenham in the Premier League.

Defeat there would see them fall 16 points off third-placed Spurs, if they beat Burnley on Saturday.
