PSG contract rebel Adrien Rabiot agrees deal to join Barcelona on free transfer
French midfielder made it clear he wouldn't be staying put in Paris and is now set to move to Spain
ADRIEN RABIOT has reportedly agreed a contract with Barcelona.
Marca claims the midfielder will move to Spain on a free transfer when his PSG deal expires this summer.
Rabiot made it clear earlier in the season that he had no intention of extending his stay in the French capital.
He has since been dropped to the PSG reserves and was not in the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League win over Manchester United.
Rabiot becomes the latest youngster to bolster Barca’s midfield options, with Frenkie de Jong signed from Ajax in a £65million deal last month.
Ernesto Valverde also secured the signature of Brazilian prodigy Arthur last summer.
And Barca’s more senior players are sure to be sweating over their long-term futures.
But one man who looks set to sign a new contract is Ivan Rakitic, with Valverde calling on the Barcelona board to secure his signature amid interest from Chelsea and Man United.
Valverde said: “The club will take the steps they have to take to have the best team.
“Rakitic is an important player for us.”
