POLICE are investigating claims that Stoke boss Nathan Jones has received death threats.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed to SunSport they are following up reports that the 45-year-old has been targeted with malicious communications.
A statement read: "Police are investigating following reports that a man in his forties has received malicious communications."
The Potters boss left Luton for the Championship side last month following the sacking of Gary Rowett.
Jones had worked wonders with the League One outfit, guiding them to second before ditching them following a 13-game unbeaten run.
The Hatters are seeking back-to-back promotions after Jones led then to promotion from League Two the year before.
They have continued their fine form and currently sit top of League One, having won their last four league matches on the bounce.

But Jones has struggled to get struggling Stoke ticking this season, winning just one and losing four of his opening five matches.
They face promotion hopefuls West Brom on Saturday evening.
They currently sit 15th in the Championship, nine points adrift from the play-offs.
Jones' coaching career began at Brighton where he had a brief stint as assistant manager under Chris Hughton.
