Former Man United striker Federico Macheda offering ‘personalised shout-outs’ for £38 a pop
Italian became a cult hero at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson before going on to play for Doncaster and Cardiff
MANCHESTER UNITED cult hero Federico Macheda has found a bizarre way to earn some dosh on the side.
The 27-year-old Italian looked destined for the top after bagging in his first two games for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side aged 17 to help them win the Premier League title 2009.
Despite that thrilling start, the striker’s career failed to really take off as he left the Red Devils for spells at Sampdoria, Doncaster, Cardiff City and Novara before joining Panathinaikos.
Macheda has scored six in 14 Greek top-flight matches this campaign – but he seems to have found something else other than his goal bonus to help bolster his bank account.
The ace is now an employee of a newly-launched website called that allows customers to book personalised video shoot-outs and greetings from celebrities and sport stars.
And you can book your very own message from the ex-Italy Under-21 international for £38 a pop.
OTHER STARS ON CAMEO... AND WHAT THEY CHARGE
FEDERICO Macheda is not the only footballing face to sign up to offer his personalised services on Cameo.
The website allows fans to book a video shoot-out or greeting from a choice of different celebrities.
But it will cost you a pretty penny for the service.
Here is a list of some of the other ex-Premier League stars to have joined Cameo and how much it will cost to hire them:
Chelsea legend Michael Essien - £77
Ex-Prem striker Carlton Cole - £46
Former Liverpool ace Djibril Cisse - £46
Spurs icon Ledley King - £38
Man United cult hero Federico Macheda - £38
Ex-England international Shaun Wright-Phillips - £30
Macheda has joined a host of other ex-Prem players in signing up for the service – although some are charging twice as much for their personal touch.
Chelsea legend Michael Essien (£77) and West Ham’s old forward Carlton Cole (£46) are two of the names available.
WHO’S GOT THE LOVE? Facebook behaviour reveals anger among Arsenal fans – but much love at Liverpool
But ex-England international Shaun Wright-Phillips is only charging £30 a go – eight quid cheaper than Macheda.
The ex-Old Trafford prodigy appears to have only received one booking so far, congratulating 'Anders' on a new job.
