EVERTON have rejected a £26million bid for Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain as they look to cling on to their midfield star.
Earlier this week, Toffees boss Marco Silva threatened to quit if the club allowed the midfielder to leave, according to reports.
With the clock running down on deadline day, Silva and Co are still desperately clinging on to their man.
Ligue 1 champions PSG see Gueye as the long-term replacement for Adrien Rabiot who is refusing to sign a new contract with his current deal up this summer.
Everton have already survived one bid, thought to be around £25m, last weekend.
SunSport revealed last month that Gueye was on a shortlist of midfielders as an alternative to Frenkie De Jong, who has joined Barcelona.

Southampton’s Mario Lemina and Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure are among the players they like, along with Gueye, who could arrive and still comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
Everton would make a big profit on the £7.1million they paid Aston Villa two-and-a-half years ago.
But Silva's Toffees are standing firm with less than an hour left on the deadline day clock.
Gueye has played 22 times this season for the Merseyside club - including 20 of their 24 Premier League games.
