Solskjaer already making plans for next season – whether he is Man Utd boss or not
Interim boss has turned the club's season around with eight consecutive wins since he took over from Jose Mourinho
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER says he is already planning for next season – whether he is still manager at Old Trafford or not.
The interim Manchester United boss has the club going back in the right direction with eight wins out of eight since he took over from Jose Mourinho.
The Norwegian has lifted the club and set them back on the right path with the recent league victory away to Tottenham and the FA Cup win over Arsenal.
And for Solskjaer it is not just about putting a marker down for now.
Solskjaer said: “What Manchester United are going to look like next season with or without me, it doesn't matter, I'm here to prepare for next season.
“We've had some fantastic results, great performances and I can see the improvement in many aspects.
“From the Tottenham to the Arsenal game, the way we improved the structure, the ideas, we have got to know each other more and they have got to know me and what I want from the team.”
For Solskjaer it has not just all been about returning the flair to the Red Devils either.
He said: “The people said it was just about attacking, attacking, attacking but it is the other part I’m happy with too because we have not conceded many chances.
“We looked really good against Arsenal defensively, we defended the box really well.”

Indeed United enjoyed three clean sheets on the bounce before the recent 2-1 wins over Brighton and then Arsenal on Friday night.
The next test is Burnley at home tomorrow night.
Sean Dyche played a weakened side with seven changes in their 5-0 defeat in the Cup away to Manchester City on Saturday.
Solskjaer was at the Etihad with United having played the night before.
He is expecting a much sterner test than the one he saw The Clarets give their neighbours having racked up three wins and a draw in their last four in the league.
Solskjaer said: “We know we're up against a team that's going to come here and fight for three points as every single team in the Premier League does.
“They will cause us different problems, with their physicality, the front two.
“We have got to be ready for them but we've turned the corner ourselves.”
Indeed they have with the victory at Arsenal another major step forward for Solskjaer.
He changed his frontline for that game, bringing in Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, and they delivered.
As did Jesse Lingard, who held his place and fired in the second goal in the 3-1 win.
Solskjaer said: “Jesse's got energy, a steel about him, he can play in different positions, in a midfield three, up front ,either side.
“When he made his debut against Burnley reserves he was a tiny little kid, his development has been fantastic.”
