THE sister of Emiliano Sala has travelled to Cardiff in an attempt to seek answers over what happened to the plane carrying the footballer.
Romina Sala has been meeting with officials from Cardiff City in an attempt to gain the facts over the disappearance of the light aircraft carrying her brother on Monday night.
Authorities in Guernsey have today called off their search of the waters around the Channel Islands saying the chances of Sala or pilot Dave Ibbotson surviving are now extremely remote.
And Cardiff chief executive Ken Choo told that the club are working with his sister attempting to help her get all the information she needs to relay back to family back in Argentina.
Choo said: “Basically what is happening is Sala’s sister is here in Cardiff gathering information.
"We met her at 10pm last night and had talks until midnight.
“She has read a lot in the press but she wants to hear from the club and get the facts.
"We’re trying to get as much factual information for her and make sure all the right facts she requires are conveyed to her.
“We have also organised with Guernsey police to have a meeting with her today in Wales to convey to her the timeline of the flights, when the flight left, when it should have landed, where is the nearest piece of land where the plane could possibly have landed, how the search and rescue is being conducted and who by.
“The family is living in Argentina and she just wants to look a person in the face, in the eye and get more factual information – that’s the reason for her trip.”
Choo said the club were not responsible for booking the ill-fated plane, and wishes he had pushed the case further when they offered Sala a commercial flight from Paris.
He added: “Cardiff City were definitely not involved in making the plane reservations.

“Our player liaison staff had an offer for Emiliano to fly on a commercial flight from Paris, but basically the player said, 'Don’t worry about that, I have alternative arrangements, I’ll see you at the ground on Tuesday.'
“He requested our club officials to pick him up from Cardiff airport on Monday night, but of course the plane never arrived.
“His French representatives, or the people he is associated with, reserved the flight.
“We are trying to get more information for Sala’s sister today, and she has requested to speak to those representatives to explain the sequence of events and the communication between themselves and Sala in organising the flights.
“In hindsight we should have pushed [for the commercial flight from Paris] but we had to respect the wishes of the player, we do not want to make players uncomfortable with any arrangements.”
