GONZALO HIGUAIN has become the sixth-highest earner in the Premier League after completing his loan deal to Chelsea yesterday.
It is understood the striker will pocket a huge £270,000 per week for the remainder of the season. But who earns more?
According to , that matches the wages he was on during his loan spell at AC Milan but it is understood to be almost double his Juventus pay.
Remarkably only five stars across England's top flight are earning more.
Unsurprisingly, Alexis Sanchez leads the way with his eye-watering £505,000-a-week wages at Manchester United.
The Chilean swapped with midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan a year ago this week - and has earned a staggering £26.26million while scoring just four goals for his new side.
While Sanchez left Arsenal last January, Mesut Ozil stayed in North London.
The fact that Arsene Wenger and the club offered him an improved contract worth £350,000 per week may have had something to do with it.
Ozil is far and away the top earner at Arsenal but that does not seem to matter to boss Unai Emery.
The German has not featured since being dragged off at half-time against Brighton on Boxing Day. He was not in the squad for the defeat at West Ham but did make the bench for the Chelsea victory.
Raheem Sterling jumped up to third on the list when he signed a new contract at Manchester City in November.
The extension not only will keep him at the Etihad until 2023 but see him pocket a reported £300,000 per week.
Also in November, N'Golo Kante bumped up his wages at Chelsea as the West Londoners desperately tried to cling on to the holding midfielder.
Kante, signed for just £30m from Leicester in 2016, put pen to paper on a £290,000-a-week contract, which meant he surpassed Eden Hazard as the club's highest earner.
Manchester United star Paul Pogba was originally on £220,000 per week when he returned to Old Trafford three years ago.
But just like his World Cup-winning team-mate Kante, he boosted his wages to £290,000 to take his earnings to £15m a year.
Then just £20,000 behind the French pair comes 31-year-old Higuain, sixth on the list and therefore second at Stamford Bridge.
Eden Hazard slips down to third now with his £200,000-per-week wages matching fellow Premier League stars Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah.
