ARSENAL have confirmed that Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat is leaving after just a year at the Emirates.

The 46-year-old transfer guru joined the club in December 2017, but a number of fall-outs has seen him sensationally quit his job in North London.

Mislintat is credited with bringing previously unknown duo Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to the Gunners last summer from Sampdoria and Lorient respectively.

While he also had a huge hand in the signing of Greek starlet Konstantinos Mavropanos last January, who has impressed in defence when called upon.

And he used his Borussia Dortmund contacts to full effect when he managed to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sokratis Papastathopoulos to England.

"We wish him every success for the future and thank him for his extremely hard work on behalf of Arsenal."

While Mislintat stated: "It's been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change.

"I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself."

According to Guillem Balague, Diamond Eye was upset and disappointed after being overlooked for the Director of Football role.

While the Spaniard also claimed that Arsenal believe he hasn't done what was expected of him, and rarely attends home games.

But he may be back in with a job in the near future, with rumours that he could be on his way back to the Bundesliga.

The recently reported that Bayern Munich are confident they can lure him to the Allianz Arena before the end of the season.
