Tottenham want £18m middle man Florian Grillitsch from Hoffenheim

The news comes after Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele looks set to depart from London with Tottenham accepting a £9m bid from Beijing Guoan

TOTTENHAM are interested in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, reports suggest.

claim Tottenham are monitoring the 23-year-old Austria international and have sent scouts to watch Grillitsch play at both club and international level.

It is thought that Austrian has an £18million release clause in his contract, which still has has more than two-and-a-half years to go.

The news comes after Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele looks set to depart from London with Tottenham accepting a £9m bid from Beijing Guoan.

Dembele has struggled with injuries this season playing just 13 times in all competitions as Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks have been preferred in the deeper role.

It is believed Tottenham are looking for a replacement as Dembele looks set to end his seven season stay with Spurs.

As well as Grillitsch, Borussia Monchengladbach's Denis Zakaria, is also thought to be on Mauricio Pochettino's wish list.

The 22-year-old has made 16 appearances for Monchengladbach this season, while he was deployed in the defensive midfield position 33 times last term.

Pochettino has reportedly been monitoring Zakaria since he began playing for Swiss side Young Boys in 2015.

Tottenham have are also monitoring the likes of Tanguy N'Dombele, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Donny van de Beek, Sander Berge and Morgan Sanson.
