Arsenal are lucky to have Aubameyang says captain Koscielny, who hails form of deadly striker
The 29-year-old striker has been in inspired form this season - banging in 15 goals in 25 games in all competitions
LAURENT KOSCIELNY believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in the best form of his career as he insists Arsenal are lucky to have him.
The 29-year-old is the joint top scorer in the Premier League, and has banged in 15 goals in all competitions for the Gunners this season.
Aubameyang has hit the ground running at the Emirates since joining from Borussia Dortmund last year in a club-record deal.
He has found the back of the net 25 times in 39 games in all competitions, and is the closest striker to Thierry Henry the North London side have had.
Speaking in his captain’s noted ahead of the Fulham clash, Koscielny said: “When we have Auba in this kind of form, it is also easier for us.
“I believe he is in the best form of his career. When he’s at this degree of confidence and has this kind of momentum, he’s very difficult to stop.
“He is so clinical. He has always scored goals. I remember playing against him in France and he was very good with his pace and runs.
“But in terms of finishing, he has reached a new level this season. His ratio of shots on target to goals scored is outstanding so far this season.
“We are lucky to have him with us and if he keeps scoring like he has done so far, we will have a very strong second half of the season.”
Aubameyang struggled in his last outing for ArseNal, where he made just 13 touches against Liverpool during the 5-1 defeat.
