Man Utd players would dive if they were ‘breathed on’, feared Cardiff boss Neil Warnock
Bluebirds chief takes a swipe at players who take a tumble in the Premier League after Harry Kane and Mo Salah were slammed for diving
NEIL WARNOCK has launched a stinging attack on Premier League divers as his team prepare to play Tottenham.
The Cardiff boss joked that he told his players not to breathe on a Manchester United star in the box during their 5-1 defeat for fear of conceding a penalty.
Spurs striker Harry Kane was slammed for a clear dive against Wolves, while Mo Salah won soft penalties against both Newcastle and Arsenal.
Warnock quipped: “It's so difficult to see diving, you can't blame referees.
“I say to my players about the top players 'try not to breathe on them’.
“I said that before the game, if they get in the box ‘Don't breathe on them at all’ because they'll be down.
“That's how it is nowadays.”
Cardiff lost 1-0 to Spurs in the reverse fixture, during which Warnock fumed at Kane for grabbing Joe Ralls before the midfielder was harshly sent off for a challenge on Lucas Moura.
At the time, he said: “England player, going off like that? Dear me.
"He went straight in and pushed him, so why not give him a red card.”
Warnock's Bluebirds come into the clash on the back of their first away win of the season, while Spurs will look to get back on track after a dismal showing against Wolves.
