Man Utd’s win over Bayern Munich in 1999 to be replayed with all players

MANCHESTER UNITED’s most dramatic win ever is set to be replayed – with ALL players from both sides playing each other again.

The nail-biting Champions League final thriller against Bayern Munich has gone down in football history after an injury-time comeback at Barcelona’s Nou Camp in 1999.

The man who grabbed the glory for the Old Trafford team was none other than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – ironically now back as caretaker boss during the club’s troubled times after the sacking of Jose Mourhino.

And it could be a fitting farewell to the Norwegian if he doesn’t land the United job permanently.

The game is scheduled for May 26 – exactly 20 years to the day when Sir Alex Ferguson’s side came back from the dead to clinch European glory in the Catalan capital.

Staff at Manchester United’s Foundation have been excitedly organising the big event, kept hush hush until everything was confirmed.

And they are “delighted” that every single player who took part in the final has agreed to turn out for the mother of all replays.

The event is expected to raise a huge amount for the Foundation which helps people around the globe.

And for dewy-eyed fans who can remember that night in Barcelona it will bring back all the memories – obviously without the high stakes involved.

A club source said : “Bringing the two teams back together for such a great cause was never going to be easy but it appears everyone was up for it.

"The news is just tremendous and it should be an end of season match not to forget.

“The icing on the cake is obviously that Ole the hero of the night will be turning out.”

Fans around the world remember the final for injury time goals from United's Teddy Sheringham and Solskjær, which cancelled out Mario Basler's early goal.

United's victory completed a treble-winning season, after they had won the Premier League and FA Cup.
