IT'S more like a dog day Saturday afternoon.
When the likes of Marcus Rashford, Phil Jones and Mark Noble are playing for their clubs over the weekend their expensive homes are protected by a man's best friend.
The United pair and West Ham captain are just a handful of footballers who have got a dog from Chaperone K9.
Based in the Leicestershire countryside, they're a family run business that supply personal protection animals, as well as residential dog training.
The majority of dogs they provide are German Shepherds or Belgian Malinois, and each pooch has been put through a rigorous 12 month plus training programme.
According to Chaperone K9's website, the dogs are able to recognise and deal with a number of different threats, including home invasion, road rage, personal attacks on the person and their family and robbery.

Once given a command, they will spring into action with an apparent initial display of aggression to ward a potential assailant off simply by barking.
If there is more than one attacker, they are taught to position themselves between you and the potential threat, continuously barking to keep the assailants at bay.

And should the assailant continue to pose you a danger, a Chaperone K9 has learned, on command, to bite and hold the attacker until you tell the dog to release them.
Chaperone K9 dogs are also able to deal with intruders with weapons, targeting the arm the weapon is in to remove any danger from proceedings.
Once the problem is averted, your pet will return to the same family-loving dog it was before.
But, these fantastic beasts don't come cheap.
With a starting price of around £15,000, you'll need to earn Premier League wages to be able to afford one.
Paranoid Prem stars are going to desperate measures to provide security for themselves and their families.
Many have become targets for burglars, often those who have been away on international or Champions League duty.
Some have panic rooms built in their vast homes, but the latest trend of security dogs provides a new level of safety.
Happy customer Phil Jones is one of the first footballers to offer his testimonial to the K9 specialists.
"The attention to detail and level of service from Chaperone K9 is outstanding," he wrote.
