PAUL POGBA has fuelled speculation of a return to Juventus after meeting with Paulo Dybala in Paris.
The midfielder jetted to the French capital fresh off the back of his snub in Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.
And furious fans couldn’t help but wonder if the World Cup winner was trying to engineer an escape route back to Turin as the two posed for a snap on Instagram.
One supporter wrote on Twitter: "Pogba is in Paris partying at an Adidas event over 24 hours after an embarrassing defeat to our arch rivals, state of our club."
Another added: "Yeah so Pogba has annoyed me today... yeah he can leave. I don't even care if he goes anymore."
Ander Herrera started ahead of Pogba at Anfield on Sunday and wrote an apology on Instagram for the defeat - that left United 19 points behind their bitter rivals - shortly after his team-mate's post.
The Spaniard wrote: "Today has been difficult day for all those associated to Man Utd, but I believe that we should continuing expressing ourselves even on bad days like today. Our fans deserve it.
"All of us that make up the first team are responsible for this situation and all of us need to play our part to improve it.
"I don’t think there is any other way other than hard work and effort, and I’ll continue giving my all until the last day that I wear these colours. Thanks to all of you that support us in the hard times as well as the good."
And supporters were quick to point out the difference in the pair's reactions.
One wrote: "Ander Herrera is apologising to the fans for our recent form, while Paul Pogba is dabbing in Paris."
The World Cup winner’s United prospects look bleak following a turbulent season under Jose Mourinho.
Pogba was stripped of the Red Devils vice-captaincy after some poor performances.
And he has now been dropped from Mourinho’s starting XI altogether, with Nemanja Matic and Herrera the preferred partnership in midfield.
It got worse for Pogba on Sunday after he was named on the bench for the crunch Premier League clash at Anfield.
But he wasn’t even summoned for a warm-up as Mourinho’s men fell 19 points off top spot.
It now remains to be seen if Pogba can force his way back into the Special One’s plans.
But if Dybala truly had been on a scouting mission for Juve, Pog may find it hard to resist the call of his former club – especially now they have Cristiano Ronaldo leading the attack.
