'TIME-TRAVELLING GENIUS'

Arsenal fan predicted 22-game unbeaten run at start of September against Cardiff

The Gunners' brilliant run came to an end against Southampton yesterday as they lost 3-2 at St Mary's

AN Arsenal fan has been labelled as a "time travelling genius" after predicting the club would go on a 22-game unbeaten run way back at the start of September.

Speaking to AFTV's YouTube channel following the Gunners' 3-2 win against Cardiff, the supporter confidently stated the club would embark on a brilliant run.

This Arsenal fan claimed his side would go on a 22-match unbeaten run after they beat Cardiff in September

He originally spoke about centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, and how the German World Cup winner failed to lose in his opening 22-games for the North London side.

And as he lauded his talents, he boldly predicted his team were about to do something special yet again, while other fans mocked his claim.

Speaking of Mustafi, he said: "When he first come to Arsenal, Arsenal went 22 games unbeaten."

Before adding: "I think we will go another 22 games unbeaten."

AFTC host Robbie then joked, "Well don't get carried away", which drew laughs from both Gunners and Bluebirds supporters.

Arsenal fans couldn't believe his prediction when commenting on a Reddit thread, as one said: "The way he laughs, but on the inside he knows he's a time travelling genius."

While another messaged: "He can help me in my FPL predictions."

Another quipped: "I'm calling witchcraft, what a ridiculous thing to call."

Paddy Power announced that Arsenal were 150/1 to embark on the long run, but no punters took them up on the offer.

A spokesman said: "The idea of Arsenal going on a 22-game unbeaten run, especially after their start of the season, would’ve been a real long-shot.

“Sadly, no punters backed this, but quite a few did back them for the top four, which is a lot more likely now than it was back in August."

Arsenal's run was ended yesterday after they lost 3-2 against Southampton at St Mary's.

Twice did Unai Emery's men get back on level terms through Henrikh Mkhitaryan, before Charlie Austin headed home a late winner.

The result leaves the North Londoners in fifth spot - three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and five points behind bitter rivals Tottenham.
