United had been in talks with Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz over a possible deal for Kabak.

The youngster even flew to England to speak with Old Trafford chiefs but opted to stay in Turkey.

But the club has persuaded the stylish defender his immediate future is in Super Lig, potentially snubbing a move to England next month.

Ozak only made his first-team debut in May.

And his performances have cemented his place in boss Fatih Terim’s plans this season making sixteen appearances this term.

United are keen to bolster their back line next month with boss Jose Mourinho keen on a central defender on the January transfer window.

Mourinho has been given the green light to land Spurs centre-back Toby Alderwiereld.

The Belgian international was summer target, but the clubs were miles apart on the 29-year-old’s valuation.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is another option, however, United will have to make the Senegalese stopper the most expensive defender in the world at £90m to tempt the Serie A side into doing business.
