Frenkie de Jong denies PSG deal is done as Xavi urges Barcelona to join bidding war
The Dutchman has quashed suggestions he will join the French champions despite widespread reports claiming the move is complete
FRENKIE DE JONG has not agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain and will stay with Ajax until at least the end of the season.
De Telegraaf had reported the 21-year-old was bound for the French champions next summer in a deal worth £67million.
But in an interview with the same publication the Manchester City and Barcelona target denied the move has been finalised.
The midfielder said: "There is no deal. Nothing has been decided yet. I would not be able to make a decision now. I will not leave in the winter anyway."
Ali Dursun, the youngster's agent, added to : "There is no transfer yet, it is not round. Frenkie is guaranteed to stay with Ajax until the summer and I can not say anything about it."
De Jong has made 22 appearances for Ajax this season and can operate in a holding midfield or central defensive role.
He said: "To be honest, he is welcome in Paris. I have exchanged a word with him, because he could mean a lot to us. The choice is now for him."
