CHELSEA fans are worried goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga's howler against Wolves could lead to him suffering a downturn similar to that experienced by Thibaut Courtois since he joined Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old inexplicably allowed Raul Jimenez's low shot to fly underneath him from a tight angle - a goal which sparked the hosts' second-half turnaround.

Diogo Jota netted the winner four minutes later as Matt Doherty's cross caught the Chelsea stopper out of position, allowing the Portuguese youth international to convert into a virtually empty net.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge for a world record £71.6million from Athletic Bilbao, Kepa has been impressive for the Blues, keeping 11 clean sheets in 20 appearances and conceding just 14 goals.

The Spain international was signed to replace Courtois, who left for Real with less than a year remaining on his contract.

Such was the acrimonious nature of his departure - Courtois had continually flirted with a move back to Spain prior to running down his deal into the final 12 months - his name is mud in the eyes of many Chelsea fans.

Kepa's early form has won over any Chelsea fans who were dubious over his lack of experience but his errors against Wolves have left some fearful over his next move.

Reacting to the goal, Tyler Chambers wrote on Twitter: "I’m sorry but Kepa is NOT a Chelsea goalkeeper. He’s a poor shot-stopper and I’d rather have a half-hearted Courtois in goal than him - absolute bang AVERAGE."

Fan Kaushal Skukla added: "Kepa is so bad that I will happily take Thibaut Courtois back."

A similarly angry David Donnelly stated: "That was poor keeping from Kepa! Not in Courtois class!"

Chelsea fans have taken particular satisfaction from Courtois' problems since he left west London in the summer.

He has twice conceded five times in a single game this term; for Real Madrid in the El Clasico defeat to Barcelona and while representing Belgium in their Uefa Nations loss to Switzerland.

But Real's 3-0 defeat to Eibar was the nadir of Courtois's tenure at the Bernabeu with his display leading to some fans labelling him the worst signing in the club's history.

And in the wake of Kepa producing errors of similar gravity, some Chelsea fans are concerned that Courtois' bad habbits may have rubbed off on their new 'keeper.

Buyani Buthelzi said: "Kepa starting to concede the Courtois goals."

And Alboh Nyakwara added: "Ok so did Kepa meet Courtois last weekend."

Liverpool fan Portgas D. Ace took particular joy from Kepa's plight by reminding his Chelsea counterparts of their early confidence in the Spaniard.

He said: "Loooool poor GK’ing by Kepa. Weren’t Chelsea fans saying he’s better than Courtois?"
