But since 2016, Varga, 29, has played the part of supportive Wag while Pelle has been banging in the goals for Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng - where he has scored 62 goals in 133 games.
The pair upped sticks to Jinan, with the Italian striker offered an incredible £13.5m a year deal, and they've thrived in the Far East.
