Arsenal fans rage as Mike Dean named ref for derby despite Spurs fan theory
ARSENAL fans are not happy after Mike Dean was announced as the referee for this weekend’s North London derby.
Gunners supporters were left open-mouthed as their perceived enemy was put in charge of the upcoming Premier League clash against fierce rivals Tottenham.
Dean has been accused by Arsenal fans of making “massive mistakes” in previous outings and famously "celebrated" a Tottenham goal scored against Aston Villa.
And an official government petition by Gooners in 2015 saw them try to ban Dean from refereeing their games in the future.
In 2017 he was demoted from Premier League matches after a string of high-profile errors.
The veteran official has since been enjoying other leisures, caddying for Lydia Hall at the Ricoh Women’s British Open.
