Liverpool considering recalling Ben Woodburn from Sheffield United loan in January after failing to break into starting XI
The Wales international, 19, has not scored for the Blades and has started just one game all season
LIVERPOOL could recall Ben Woodburn from Sheffield United in January, according to reports.
The highly-rated teenager, 19, has failed to break into the first-team this season - starting one game and failing to score so far.
The Wales international has played only 28 minutes of senior football since being subbed off at half-time of the game against Norwich City on August 18.
Blades boss Chris Wilder has not missed the striker, with his side currently fourth in the Championship.
report that Liverpool are aware of Woodburn's frustration and have already had him back on Merseyside for an Under-23 game against Derby County.
Wilder and Sheffield United have no complaints with Woodburn or his attitude - he's just unable to get into the team because of the form of Mark Duffy.
Liverpool do have the option to recall the starlet, but no formal discussions have taken place just yet.
Wales manager Ryan Giggs, speaking last month, said Woodburn has to see the positives of his situation.
The Manchester United legend said: "Sometimes it works out on loan, sometimes it doesn't - but this could be a good thing," he said.
"When you go through difficult times, which he is at the moment, and you come through it, sometimes you are a better player and a better person.
"The quality is definitely there and it's up to Ben to make the most of that.
"It's only him that can do that."
