Lincoln City make awkward matchday programme gaffe as article on ‘vegan club’ Forest Green Rovers appears next to full-page advert for steak
The Imps edged out a 2-1 victory against their League Two opponents at Sincil Bank yesterday
LEAGUE TWO leaders Lincoln City have been ribbed over their matchday programme after featuring an article on eco-friendly rivals Forest Green Rovers.
Appearing next to the article on the Green Devils was a full-page advert for steak - a huge blunder considering their opponents only tuck into vegan food.
Unlike the vast majority of football grounds that sell burgers, chips and hot dogs, the New Lawn serves only vegan food products, as well as organic cider.
Fans took delight in the accidental placement in the Imps' programme, which advertised the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in Lincoln.
One fan tweeted: "Brilliant. Makes the day even better."
While another said: "Brilliant lol."
Another simply stated: "Fine work."
Lincoln edged out Forest Green at Sincil Park yesterday as they won 2-1 courtesy of goals from John Akinde and Kellan Gordon.
Rovers owner Dale Vince is determined to save the planet - with the club recently winning the Momentum for Change climate action award.
They were presented with the award in New York by the United Nations for becoming the first football side to go carbon neutral.
