Arsene Wenger confirms plans to return to management in the New Year but rules out Premier League job
Frenchman, who has been linked with Real Madrid and AC Milan, admitted he is well rested and raring to go after ending his 22-year stint with Arsenal at the end of last season
ARSENE WENGER has confirmed he will return to football in the New Year but ruled out a Premier League job.
The Frenchman admitted he is well rested and raring to go after ending his 22-year stint with Arsenal at the end of last season.
Wenger, 69, has received offers from all over the world and has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Real Madrid.
But he concedes he still doesn't know where he will end up but his affinity to the Gunners means it won't be back in England.
When asked when he'll be returning to the dugout, Wenger told Sky Sports: "Certainly at the beginning of the year.
"At the moment I have had a good rest and I watch football a lot. We are here at Wembley where I played many games here and have good memories and so of course you miss that.
"The best thing is not to manage in England because I spent so much time the same club it would be a sin to go somewhere else.
"At the moment I cannot tell you where because I don't even know. I don't know where I'll be, I'll be somewhere but I don't know where."
Wenger has watched his former side go from strength-to-strength under new boss Unai Emery.
Before their 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace, they had won an incredible 11 matches in a row.

And he admitted he is delighted to watch them do so well.
Wenger added: "I'm a supporter and when Arsenal win I am happy.
"I worked very hard for this club, I dedicated my whole life for this club to be in a good shape when I leave it and I think that's what I did.
"After that I'm a supporter like everybody else. I want Arsenal to be happy and to be winning football games."
