Leicester players pay tribute to club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who died in helicopter crash

Defender Harry Maguire was one of the first to pay his respects on Twitter after the club confirmed all five people on-board lost their lives

LEICESTER players have paid tribute to club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha after he tragically lost his life on Saturday.

Srivaddhanaprabha was one of five people on-board his helicopter that crashed into the club car park following the draw against West Ham.

Leicester confirmed everyone on board of the helicopter passed away.

Defender Harry Maguire was one of the first to pay his respects on Twitter.

He wrote: "Words can't describe how I feel. A truly great, kind, loving man who will be missed so much by everyone.

"I will never forget the Chairman's support, not only during my time at Leicester but also during the World Cup. RIP."

Striker Jamie Vardy posted a picture of the pair on Instagram alongside the caption: "Struggling to find the right words... but to me you are a legend, an incredible man who had the biggest heart, the soul of Leicester football club.

"Thank you for everything you did for me, my family and our club. May you rest in peace."

Wes Morgan added: "Absolutely heartbroken and devastated regarding the news of our chairman.

"A man that was loved and adored by everyone here at LCFC and someone who I personally had the upmost respect for.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the families of the other victims of this tragedy."

 

 

 

 

Srivaddhanaprabha was seen as a hero in the eyes of the club, players and the community after their heroic Premier League 2016 title win.

Not only did he sell a dream - and deliver it - to the players, he pumped a fortune into local hospitals and charities.

Danny Simpson added: "Thank you for everything you have done for me, the players, the fans, the club and the whole city of Leicester.

"You made mine and everyone else's dream come true. I am devastated and I can't seem to process what has happened but we will do our best to help this club grow. RIP."
