PAUL POGBA admits he may have to ditch his penalty run-up after being jeered by the crowd during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Everton.
The Old Trafford crowd made their feelings known when Pogba stepped up for a spot-kick in the first half following a foul on Anthony Martial by Idrissa Gueye.
Pogba went just outside the box and proceeded to run forward in extremely short steps while raising his knees high.
The scenes drew gasps of exasperation from the home fans, and their worst fears were realised when Pogba’s shot ended up being saved by Jordan Pickford.
Luckily for the Frenchman, the ball spilled out to him and he was able to tuck it away to give United the lead.
But after the strange scenes at the Theatre of Dreams, Pogba conceded it may be time to mix things up.
He told Sky Sports: “I was lucky with the penalty but most important is the goal went in.
“It was good for us and me. We had other chances but most important was the win.
“I always try to destabilise the keeper. I always shoot like this and that’s how I take penalties.
“I might practice to change because the keeper starts to know what I am going to do.”
