Graeme Souness praises Paul Pogba after first-half efforts for Manchester United, leaving Twitter in shock
GRAEME SOUNESS praised Paul Pogba after his first-half efforts for Manchester United against Everton, leaving Twitter in shock.
World Cup-winning midfielder scored after missing his penalty in the opening 45 minutes against Everton earlier this afternoon.
Pogba, 25, saw his spot-kick saved after showing-off his painfully slow, stuttering run-up, but redeemed himself with a smart follow-up finish.
And in a bizarre turn of events, Souness - the most-outspoken Pogba critic on the planet - was quick to pile praise on the £89million United star.
Speaking at half-time on Sky Sports, Souness left his co-hosts stunned, saying: "I thought he was really good.
"Apart from this [the penalty run-up]. This for me is 'look at me, look at me, I want to be in the spotlight'.
"I just don't get this penalty, but I think he's moved the ball quickly today, he's been uncomplicated... I think he's been really good today."
Here's how Twitter reacted to the unprecedented turn of events...
