Graeme Souness was atypically complimentary of Paul Pogba today

Pogba, 25, saw his spot-kick saved after showing-off his painfully slow, stuttering run-up, but redeemed himself with a smart follow-up finish.

And in a bizarre turn of events, Souness – the most-outspoken Pogba critic on the planet – was quick to pile praise on the £89million United star.

Speaking at half-time on Sky Sports, Souness left his co-hosts stunned, saying: “I thought he was really good.

“Apart from this [the penalty run-up]. This for me is ‘look at me, look at me, I want to be in the spotlight’.
