However, the Premier League side will face competition from Inter and Roma to land the most sought-after football administrator on the Continent, claims Italian journalist Ciro Venerato.

Marotta is due to leave the Italian champions when his contract expires at the end of the month.

The 61-year-old has a wealth of experience in football boardrooms and fits the bill as the Gunners implement their new hierarchy in North London post-Arsene Wenger.

Marotta joined Juve from Sampdoria in 2010.

He was tasked with taking the club back to the top of Italian following relegation to Serie B for their part in the match-fixing scandal four years earlier.

Marotta drafted in scout Fabio Paratici and the pair formed a formidable partnership in the transfer market to help Juve become Serie A champions over the last seven seasons.

Paratici will not follow Marotta out of Turin and could be promoted as new CEO, replacing his old boss by the end of October.

Arsenal will be hoping to tap into the experience and contacts book if they can tempt him to leave Italy and up sticks to North London.
