Kaka being lined up to come out of retirement by Silvio Berlusconi owned Monza
The former AC Milan and Real Madrid star hung up his boots at the end of last year but could make shock return to football
KAKA could be in line to make a shock return to football less than a year after retiring, according to reports.
It is understood the former Brazilian star, 36, is wanted by Serie C side Monza whose majority shareholder is former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Berlusconi sold his shares at AC Milan after 31 seasons last year before taking over at Monza last week, claiming a 100 per cent stake in the club.
He is thought to be keen to bring Kaka out of retirement, push for promotion and raise the profile of the club.
And according to , the former playmaker is seriously considering the offer.
Kaka retired at the end of last season following a glistening career which ended with three years at Orlando City in the MLS.
But the third-tier club are hopeful of luring him back to Italy where, of course, the Brazilian broke on to the world stage.
He helped AC Milan to the Serie A title, the Champions League and the Fifa Club World Cup in his six successful years at the San Siro.
And there he picked up the Ballon d'Or in 2007 and remains the last person other than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to win the award.
His performances meant Real Madrid came calling and splashed out a then-world record fee of £56million.

But after four years and one La Liga title, he returned to Milan before finishing his club career Stateside.
Kaka earned 92 caps for Brazil and was part of the squads that won the World Cup in 2002 as well as successive Confederations Cups in 2005 and 2009.
