Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey ignores Unai Emery after being subbed off against Watford
Welsh ace Ramsey appeared frustrated at not being able to make a difference on his return to the starting XI
UNAI EMERY shrugged off Aaron Ramsey’s hissy fit as Arsenal left it late to clinch their seventh straight win.
Welsh midfielder Ramsey was unimpressed at being subbed for Alex Iwobi after 64 minutes of Saturday's victory.
He shook his head in disbelief and walked straight past Emery without even looking at him when the manager came across to pat him on the chest.
Ramsey’s annoyance came just days after Arsenal changed their mind about offering him a new £250,000-a-week deal to keep him at the club beyond next summer.
But Emery insists he does not have a problem with the unsettled midfielder and said: “I like it when a player wants to play every minute.
“I want to see a competitive spirit from all my players and I was very happy with the mentality of Iwobi today. I wanted him to get closer to the box, to be more aggressive.
“We need players with the hunger to come on and take responsibility because our players were a little nervous in the first-half and we needed them to be more calm.
“The ball was around our penalty area for a lot of the game and the rhythm was not what we wanted.
“But now we have 15 points from our last five games and I am happy that we are getting more competitive with each win.”
