Welshman could be set to leave Gunners on a free transfer next summer after failing to agree terms on a new deal
UNAI EMERY has refused to give Aaron Ramsey any assurances over a new contract after talks collapsed this week.
The Welshman appears destined to become a free agent at the end of the season after failing to strike a fresh deal with the Gunners.
It’s been claimed that Arsenal had offered Ramsey improved terms and were close to a final agreement.
But they sensationally withdrew the offer at the final minute, leaving the 27-year-old in no man’s land.
It means Ramsey is now able to talk with foreign clubs about a free transfer in January.
There is also believed to be interest at home, with both Chelsea and Manchester United linked.
Ramsey may still be crossing his fingers for an Arsenal U-turn.
But the outlook appears bleak after Emery refused to say whether a new offer would be forthcoming, explaining: “There are three elements, three aspects. One is the player and also the player with their family and representatives.
“The other is the club and the other is the squad. My focus is always on the team. My focus is preparing with the players and only thinking about the match tomorrow.
“Each player has individual aspects to work or to do or to speak with the club or with the team, but my focus is only preparing for the matches and to speak with the players so they are very concentrated on giving the best possible performance for the team.”
