SIR ALEX FERGUSON has returned to Old Trafford for the first time since his life-threatening brain haemorrhage.
The former Red Devils boss, 76, was in "extremely serious" condition after a seizure but has recovered remarkably quickly.
Man United tweeted the brilliant news, as former Scot boss Ferguson beamed on his way into the stadium this morning.
They went on to say they will "honour his return" at 2.45pm - 15 minutes before kick-off of today's game.
On his return, Ferguson said: "I'm really good. Obviously it's been a long journey and I'm gradually making the steps forward and doing what my son and doctors tell me so I'm really good.
"I'm a bit nervous to be honest with you... maybe a bit tense. I think my last game was Arsenal, back in April sometime, so it's a long time.
"But, it's great to be back and I just hope we get a win today!
"It's great to be back at the stadium. It's going to be a bit emotional for me when the game gets started and things like that. It had to happen sometime.
"It's bound to be [emotional], particularly when I take my seat in the box, that will be something. But I will be glad to get it over with and get the game started and enjoy it."
Meanwhile, current boss Jose Mourinho added: "It’s fantastic news for everyone. Not just for the Manchester United family.
"Who in the world of football, even in the world, is not happy with Sir Alex Ferguson back? So it is great news for everyone.
In May, the footballing world was rocked by the dramatic news of Fergie's brain haemorrhage.
But within a month, the ex-United chief was out of hospital and being looked after by loved ones.
At the time, a source said: “Everyone knows Sir Alex is a winner and this was one battle he was never going to lose."
Ferguson soon after thanked hospital staff for saving his life in an emotional video, saying: "Believe me, without those people, who gave me such great care, I would not be sitting here today. So thank you from me and my family, thank you very much."
When asked by MUTV if he'd received many messages of support, Fergie said: "It was unbelievable. There were thousands of cards.
"They kept arriving at Salford Royal Hospital but, of course, I had left by that time but they kept coming and kept coming.
"The number of emails, texts and personal cards to the house was amazing.
"I was overcome and overwhelmed by it. Remember, I did the message and that was to thank the people that had taken the time to send me a message.
"It was really important to do that.
Even with Ferguson progressing so quickly, his appearance at Old Trafford today is still incredibly ahead of schedule.
Last month, close friend Sam Allardyce claimed Fergie was aiming to return to his former stomping ground around the New Year.
