LIVERPOOL risk losing James Milner on a free at the end of the season.
The midfielder has enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign, scoring twice and playing in all six wins.
But he is out of contract at the end of the season and claim talks have not begun over a new deal.
At 32, Milner has shown no signs of slowing down and has proved himself integral to Jurgen Klopp's system.
Calls were even made for the former Manchester City star to come out of international retirement in the summer to help England's World Cup bid.
But Milner says hanging up his England boots in 2016 has given him "a new lease of life".
Liverpool brought in £52million Naby Keita and Fabinho for £43.7m this summer to reinforce their midfield but neither have dislodged Milner.
And the player does not appear to be too concerned about his contract situation after posting a picture of himself mocking Roberto Firmino.
Liverpool's Brazilian striker has been forced to wear protective goggles following eye surgery after being poked in the face by Jan Vertonghen in last weekend's 2-1 win at Tottenham.
Firmino still managed to score a last-minute winner against Paris Saint-Germain in Tuesday's 3-2 Champions League thriller at Anfield.
