PSG 4 Saint-Etienne 0: Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria net as hosts stroll to win despite Neymar and Kylian Mbappe absence
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN proved they're no two-man team as they breezed past Saint-Etienne without Neymar or Kylian Mbappe.
After a gruelling international break with Brazil, Neymar was rested by Thomas Tuchel, with one eye on Liverpool in Champions League on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Mbappe is serving the first of a three-match ban for his rush of blood to the head in the win over Nimes.
PSG got off to a flyer thanks to Julian Draxler - playing only in the absence of the Parisiens' star duo - with a wonderful goal.
The German controlled the ball with his head before cleverly nodding it over Stephane Ruffier with just 22 minutes gone to the hand the hosts the advantage.
Early in the second half, PSG doubled their lead from the penalty spot, as Edinson Cavani coolly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner.
Ten minutes later, Cavani thought he'd grabbed his second of the game - only for the effort to be chalked off for offside.
But Di Maria did make it 3-0 shortly after as he latched onto a great pass in the penalty area to smash the ball into the top left.
And the rout was complete when sub Moussa Diaby made it four and powering a low shot past Ruffier and into the bottom left corner.
The victory ensured PSG maintained their 100 per cent start to the season, making it five wins out of five for the season as they go for a sixth Ligue 1 title in seven years.
