MAURICIO POCHETTINO claims people should not play ‘God’ and judge drunk driver Hugo Loris.
Tottenham’a keeper was fined £50,000 and banned from driving after pleading guilty to being more than twice over the limit when stopped by police in his car.
France’s World Cup winning skipper says he was plied with drinks by well-wishers joining in celebrations of his summer triumph and admits making a grave error or judgement.
Spurs boss Pochettino has read Lloris the riot act and the player will not be available for this weekend’s game with Liverpool due to injury. But he will remain as club captain.
Pochettino said:”Of course he is the first to regret about everything. All that happened yesterday is not good and of course he doesn’t feel great.
He said that he was guilty of this situation and he’s responsible. He’s a man. But I think most important is everyone can make a mistake.
“He made a mistake and he’s suffered the punishment. He has punished himself. We are not God, we can’t judge people.
“Only we need to try to ensure that he understands and he understands that it was a mistake. We are men and women and or course we can all make a mistake. That’s a massive lesson for everyone. For him it’s the first.
