TOBY ALDERWEIRELD has denied seeking to quit Tottenham - and insisted he is glad to be back in their team.
The Belgian international with 12 months left on his contract looked odds-on to move to Old Trafford after snubbing a new deal at Spurs.
And after helping his country finish third in the World Cup, the 29-year-old speaking ahead of the Nations League clash with Iceland was told he was going nowhere.
Alderweireld said: "I quickly came to understand, together with my advisors, that I would be staying put at Tottenham.
"However I can't talk about all that was said in a news conference.
"It is even a personal triumph for me to have got my place back in their team. I worked hard for it.
