Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold backs Sergio Ramos and claims he is ‘probably the best defender in the world’
Spain and Real Madrid villain wrecked Liverpool’s Champions League final by injuring Mo Salah in a poor challenge
LIVERPOOL kid Trent Alexander-Arnold has hailed Sergio Ramos as "probably the best centre-back in the world".
The Real Madrid villain wrecked Liverpool’s Champions League final by injuring Mo Salah in a poor challenge.
He also caught Loris Karius with his arm, leaving the goalkeeper concussed BEFORE his crucial errors in the Reds’ 3-1 defeat in Kiev.
But Alexander-Arnold said: “Everyone has their way of winning and I think he’s showed over the years that he’s a winner.
“He’s won multiple trophies and I think it’s worked for him and his team for many years.
“He’s shown over the last 15 years why he’s probably the best centre-back in the world.
“Even if he was the enemy in May, you still have to respect him as a player.”
Ramos revealed last night how his children had received death threats over the Salah incident.
The Los Blancos legend hit back at the England fans who booed him while he played for Spain against the Three Lions.
Ramos said: "I try to escape them but it does not influence my game.
"Of course I would have liked another reception, because everyone remembers a single moment action in the final, but not the death threats that my family has received."
And former Three Lions and Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes every club and supporter would love Ramos in their team.
Neville told Sky Sports: “For all the booing there isn’t a fan in the stadium that wouldn’t like him to play for their club.
“He’s the best - personality, character. You talk about a lack of leaders. He’s a huge presence on a football pitch.
“The more he gets booed, the more I think he’s likely to stay on the ball.I think he enjoys it.”
