Kenny Jackett was Watford boss in May 1987 when they earned a 1-0 win and Starship were number one with ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now’.And Watford ended the miserable run in style by coming from a goal down in an impressive second half fightback.

Headed goals from skipper Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart put a massive boot into Tottenham’s stunning start to the season.

With first choice keeper and World Cup winner Hugo Lloris missing the game with a thigh injury just a week after being charged with drink driving, this was a sobering experience for title-contenders Spurs.

Their 100 per cent start to the season has gone and they even had to rely on a freak own goal from Abdoulaye Doucoure to give them their goal.

Lucas Moura’s fiercely driven cross from the right eight minutes into the second half rebounded off Doucoure’s chest and past Watford keeper Ben Foster.

It was one of only three shots of target aimed at Foster all afternoon.

The lead last for 16 minutes until Mousa Dembele was punished for a foul on Will Hughes just outside the Tottenham box.

Defendeer Christian Kabasele crossed from the free kick and Skipper Deeney powered home a header past stand-in keeper Michel Vorm.

Seven minutes later Cathcart climbed highest at a corner and directed a precise header into the corner of the net to seal a memorable win that means Watford’s surprisingly flawless start to the campaign remains intact.
