TOTTENHAM have been dealt a huge blow after their captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Watford.

The French stopper is struggling with a thigh injury and will miss the trip to Vicarage Road.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino confirmed: "Of course he's going to miss the game against Watford, but we hope for Liverpool he will be ready again. It's not a big issue."

As SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month, the World Cup winner was charged with drink driving and spent a night in jail after failing a breathalyser last Friday.

Lloris issued a public apology and the club took internal disciplinary action against the 31-year-old following his arrest.

Poch kept faith his No1 for Monday’s trip to Manchester United, where the ex-Lyon ace was taunted throughout by the home crowd.

But he made one important save to deny Romelu Lukaku early on and went on to keep a clean sheet as Spurs ran out 3-0 winners.

And after their impressive victory over the Red Devils, Tottenham’s manager has urged his side to remain focussed and keep their feet on the ground ahead of the tough trip to joint-table topping Watford.

Pochettino said: "If we're not ready and we believe because we beat Man United 3-0 all is fantastic, we're going to crash. After an historic win, it's easy to say our performance was fantastic. But if you watch the game the line was thin, between positive and negative."

No2 stopper Michel Vorm is likely to get the nod to replace Lloris against the Hornets.
