Mohamed Salah revives dispute with Egypt FA as Liverpool star blasts ‘it is not normal that my messages are ignored’

Problems started when the Egyptian FA used the Kop attackers image without his permission before the World Cup and Salah may retire from international football if issue among others is not resolved

FURIOUS Mo Salah has launched a blistering attack on Egypt’s FA and accused them of treating him disgracefully.

The Liverpool star claims his country’s football governing body ignored letters from him and his lawyer for FOUR MONTHS in a bitter feud over image rights and his safety with the national team.

It may lead to Salah missing next month’s African Nations Cup qualifier against Niger.

Salah tweeted: “It is natural for any FA to try to solve the problems of its players.

“But really what I see is exactly the opposite. My letters and my lawyer’s letters are ignored.

“I don’t know why this is. Don’t you have enough time to answer us?”

In one of the letters, Salah’s lawyer makes the following demands for his client:

  •  Two bodyguards at matches and training.
  • All phone calls to his hotel room to be blocked.
  • No EFA staff to ask for pictures or autographs.

Liverpool 1-0 Brighton: Reds go top of table following Mohamed Salah’s first half strike against Seagulls

Salah, 26, was “majorly insulted” in April when his image was used on the national team’s plane to promote their sponsor WE — a rival of the player’s own deal with Vodafone.

Salah’s lawyer Ramy Abbas Issa added: “We asked for guarantees regarding Mohamed’s well-being while with the national team.

“And assurances that the image-rights violations wouldn’t happen again. They have yet to respond.”

Salah was also allegedly used as a political pawn while at the World Cup.

In Russia this summer he was granted “honorary citizenship” of Chechnya and pictured with its ruler Ramzan Kadyrov.

But in a statement, the EFA believe claims Salah will miss any future games are “not right”.

And they will not open a further investigation following his Twitter outburst.
