ALISSON has promised he took a calculated risk when he flicked the ball over Brighton's Anthony Knockaert.

The new Liverpool stopper wowed the Kop when he did a cheeky up-and-under over the on-rushing Seagulls forward.

The Reds went on to win the clash 1-0 thanks to Mo Salah's winner that he curled in off the post.

And the goal came about thanks to a magnificent slide-tackle by James Milner, with the free-scoring Egyptian finding the back of the net just seconds later.

Alisson, 25, had two shots to save from the Seagulls, who impressed at Anfield, particularly in the second half.

And he said the cheeky manoeuvre was a risk worth taking.

Alisson said: "It could be too risky, but it's part of the game.

"We are a team that plays from the back with the ball on the ground. That's part of the team's characteristics.

"Mistakes happen but we work hard during the week to do everything correctly during the matches.

"If sometimes there is a situation where [I can do] dribbling, I do it carefully."

The Reds now sit top of the Premier League on goal difference ahead of Chelsea and Watford who have all made perfect starts to the season.
