Manchester City news: Pep Guardiola blocks move from Besiktas to take Fabian Delph on season-long loan
BESIKTAS have reportedly failed with a surprise move for Manchester City star Fabian Delph.
The Turkish giants want the 28-year-old versatile midfielder on a season-long loan.
But the claim Pep Guardiola has no intention of letting the ex-Aston Villa man leave the Premier League champions.
Delph shone for City last season after being tasked with playing in the unfamiliar position of left-back following Benjamin Mendy’s injury.
His impressive form earned him an England recall and he was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad that finish third at the World Cup.
And City are determined to hold onto the ace as they look to retain the title and will not entertain the idea of letting him spend the season in Istanbul.
Besiktas are still looking to recruit ahead of the European transfer window closing on August 31.
They are closing-in on a deal for Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.

And they already have a host of familiar names with Prem experience on their books.
Former Anfield man Ryan Babel, xx-Cardiff star Gary Medel and old City and Middlesbrough forward Alvaro Negredo are all at Besiktas.
