STEVE BRUCE has put himself in pole position to add Tammy Abraham to his end-of-window splurge.
The Aston Villa boss is also close to clinching a deal for Everton forward Yannick Bolasie - and also has Abraham on his hit list.
Abraham, 20, will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan and has attracted interest from Germany, France and Holland.
But Villa want to take him back to the Championship for the campaign after his success in the second tier with Bristol City two seasons ago.
Abraham would prefer to stay in the Premier League after his previous loan with Swansea - but working with Bruce is a big factor in his decision.
Bruce kept Jack Grealish during the window and looks like mounting a promotion challenge after kicking off the season with eight points from four games.
