Man City emergency loan for Barcelona star Jasper Cillessen off after Claudio Bravo horror injury leaves Pep Guardiola with goalkeeper crisis
Joe Hart and Angus Gunn have been allowed to leave the Etihad this summer leaving rookie Daniel Grimshaw as back-up to Ederson
MANCHESTER CITY’S goalkeeper crisis has deepened as Barcelona block Jasper Cillessen’s potential move to the Etihad, according to reports.
The champions are pondering a move into the emergency loan market after Claudio Bravo ruptured his Achilles tendon in training on Monday.
Bravo joins Kevin De Bruyne on the long-term injury list.
With Joe Hart joining Burnley and Angus Gunn moving to Southampton, 20-year-old rookie Daniel Grimshaw is Pep Guardiola’s only other option in goal behind first-choice Ederson.
City can sign a keeper outside of the transfer window on an emergency loan, or on a free deal.
Cillessen had been earmarked as a viable option to provide experienced back up on the bench ahead of Saturday’s trip to Wolves.

However, Spanish newspaper claims the 29-year-old will not be moving to England to link up with ex-Barca boss Guardiola.
Cillesen moved to the Nou Camp from Ajax back in 2016 for £11.1m.
But he has failed to dislodge No1 Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal and has made just made just 22 appearances for the Spanish giants with two of the games in La Liga.
He was linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool over the summer but both Premier League sides resolved their goalkeeping problems.
