Man City ready to sit down with John Stones over extending £120,000-a-week deal

MANCHESTER CITY are ready to sit down with John Stones over extending his deal after an impressive World Cup showing.
The 24-year-old defender was a standout performer for Gareth Southgate’s England side during their Russia heroics.
He also took that form into the Premier League opener against Arsenal last week, helping City to an easy 2-0 win.
And Etihad chiefs want to reward the ex-Everton ace with new terms, and make him one of their highest earners.
Stones has a contract on £120,000-a-week, which does not run out until the summer of 2022.
He is expected to be offered around another £50,000-a-week on his new deal, with talks set to start soon.
An Etihad source said: “We all know about Stones’ price at the time but it feels like a snip in the current market.
“His performances at the World Cup reinforced the belief he will go on to become one of the best in the world as he continues to mature.
“He struggled to get in the team at times last year but that was mostly after his hamstring injury that was a problem.
