Will Hugo Lloris remain Tottenham captain following drink-driving conviction?

Tottenham refused to comment on Hugo Lloris' captaincy in the midst of his drink-driving charge.

But after the Frenchman pleaded guilty on September 12, boss Mauricio Pochettino confirmed he will retain the armband.

Poch said: "Of course he is the first to regret about everything. All that happened yesterday is not good and of course he doesn’t feel great.

"He [Lloris] said that he was guilty of this situation and he’s responsible. He’s a man. But I think most important is everyone can make a mistake.

“He made a mistake and he’s suffered the punishment. He has punished himself. We are not God, we can’t judge people.

“Only we need to try to ensure that he understands and he understands that it was a mistake. We are men and women and or course we can all make a mistake.

"That’s a massive lesson for everyone. For him it’s the first.

"He said ‘Gaffer it’s a massive lesson for me. I made a mistake and now I need to pay’. Like a man that he is, he is going to accept everything.”
