ANDRE SCHURRLE became aware of Ryan Sessegnon’s skills last season after being informed by another England superstar-in-the-making.
The German played at Borussia Dortmund last term with Jadon Sancho, who talked up the talents of Lion Cub pal Sessegnon.
Schurrle revealed: “Jadon Sancho said, ‘there’s a young guy at Fulham who’s maybe going to make it’. That was the first time I heard Sessegnon’s name.
“He’s a strong guy. When you hear he’s 18, he obviously needs some time to think and develop his game.
“But he’s a great young player, you see it in training.
"His left foot is amazing as is his strength and ability to run. I think you can get good things out of him.”
Schurrle and Sessegnon could well be competing for a left-wing berth this season, though both are able to play in other positions.
The ex-Chelsea man added: “I like to play on the left upfront but I can play in the middle and on the right.
"The manager will decide this so we’ll see how it goes.
“Obviously I’ve been through a lot so I’ll try to help him.

“I always try to help young players, it’s something I really want to do because they’re hungry and you see it with Ryan as well.”
Schurrle was more than happy to pass on his knowledge to Sancho, also 18, last term.
On the ex-Manchester City kid, the Fulham loanee added: “He’s a great footballer, his ability is amazing and he can do everything with the ball.
“But he needs some guidance, some time and a manager who really likes him so he can be a great footballer.”
