Newcastle in talks with PSG over signing French wonderkid Stanley N’Soki with Kieran Gibbs also eyed
Toon Boss Rafa Benitez has been complaining all summer about the lack of transfer activity at St James' Park but will the addition of the young defender help his mood?
NEWCASTLE are locked in talks with Paris Saint-Germain for young defender Stanley N’Soki, according to reports.
The French Under-20 star can operate as a central defender or at left-back and his versatility has put the Toon on alert, says the .
However, Rafa Benitez could be set for more summer transfer frustration as Juventus and Marseille are also tracking the highly-rated 19-year-old.
N’Soki made just one appearance for the French champions last season.
But the youngster who is on PSG’s pre-season tour of the Far East has rejected the chance to sign his first professional contract in the French capital.
The defender who joined the club’s academy in 2014 is way down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes.
Benitez could step in with a lucrative offer and the chance for N’Soki to play regular football in the Premier League next season.
The Magpies boss was complaining again about the lack of transfer activity at St James’ Park after losing to Braga this week, as he looks to build on last season’s successful return to the top flight.
So far, Newcastle have signed Martin Dubravka, Ki Sung-yeung, Fabian Schar and Yoshinori Muto.
Benitez wants West Brom pair Salomon Rondon and Kieran Gibbs, but the left-back could be too costly.
Newcastle kick off the new season at home to Tottenham on August 11.
